The ECHO team is a ministry that focuses on the needs of others in the Eden church, the community, this state and around the world. The purpose of ECHO is to reach out to others to show them the Love of Christ through providing service, sharing, time, money, and gifts.

In October, this ministry helped people in the church with everyday necessities. God helped supply materials through workers of the congregation. Also, the youth and the church congregation collected coats, hats, mittens and scarves for the homeless and provided them to the Lansing City Rescue Mission.


ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

In November 2007, this mission collected food for Thanksgiving baskets to provide to needy families. Leftover food was given to the local Food Bank.

The congregation and ECHO team provided food for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner held on Thanksgiving Day at the Mason First United Methodist Church.

This ministry is sponsoring two teenage girls in India whose parents are deceased or have disabilities. Donations of $25.00 per month will pay for their schooling and a home for them to live, and for spiritual education.

In addition, the ECHO team sponsors three families on the mission field. The families are:

1. David and Melissa Kline and their daughter Mia who live in Macua, China. The Klines teach the English Language in a school and help in a local church there.

2. Troy and Julie Hendricks and their children Hannah and Ethan serving in Spain and, 

3. Billy Simbo in Sierra Leone, West Africa, is a native who has been educated in the US and ministered for many years in the US. He now has returned home to Sierra Leone to train church leadership.
Other ways this ministry services is reaching out to others is through the following areas of service:

Mason Cares
Lansing City Rescue Mission (filling back packs)
American Red Cross Distribution Center
Habitat for Humanity
Youth Haven Ranch
